Little Free Seed Library

How the Little Free Seed Library works

Our seed libraries work similiar to a regular book lending library.  Here's how you borrow seeds.

  1. Visit a Little Free Seed Library location and peruse the variety of seeds available. They will be marked with the type and variety of plant on the packet.
  2. Once you have made your selection, simply complete the sign-out sheet located next to the seed packets, or by clicking the sign-out button above and filling out the sign-out sheet there. You need to record your name, the date you signed them out, the type and variety you took and contact information for us to see how you are doing with the growing and seed saving process.
  3. Take the seeds home. Plant them and care for them according to the information sheet provided with your seed packet or by clicking on the button below. The instructions will also explain when and how to properly save the seeds.
  4. After you have successfully saved your seed you can contact us and we’ll make arrangements to pickup and repackage your newly saved seeds for return to the various Little Free Seed Library locations and the process can be repeated again next year.
